Category 1 - 3 E.L.P.O. Certification Course, Penrose, CO (24 CE)
Wednesday - 6 - 9 pm; Thursday - Saturday - 9 am - 5 pm
The Category 1 - 3 E.L.P.O. Certification Course offers professional barefoot trimmers and farriers the opportunity to take several of the Certification Exams offered by the Equine Lameness Prevention Organization. This class is not designed as an educational course or as a certification preparatory course. Although there is some opportunity over the first few days to practice or become acclimated to the type of feet you will work on during your exam, you should not expect these opportunities to prepare you completely for the practical or written examinations. This is a CERTIFICATION course and you should attend with the idea that you have completed a Pre-Certification course and are PREPARED for the exams.
At this course, attendees will be able to take the following exams:
- Live Sole Hoof Mapping Certified (LSHM)
- Certified Barefoot Trimmer (CBT)
- Certified Farrier Practitioner (CFP)
- Certified Farrier Glue Practitioner (CFGP)
*You may take the LSHM, CBT and either CFP or CFGP at the same course, however you may not take CFP and CFGP at the same time.
**You will have to take 1 Practical (hands-on) Exam for each level, however you will only take 1 Written Exam that will cover all levels (if taking multiple levels at one course). The exception is the CFP Exam where you will have 2 Practical Exams; a Shoeing & a Forging Exam.
