Haflinger Show horses to be shod in Custom Longfooted Show Packages preparing for the first show.

Ron Pfeifer will be shoeing his 8 horse hitch horses April 1-19th. You are welcome to attend one day or multiple days.
Ron will teaching and explaining how these horses are shod.
Ron Pfeifer CF has been a farrier for 29 years. For the last 15 years mainly shoeing long footed show horses .He currently is the driver of a 8 horse Haflingers hitch.
During this event Ron will apply principles of long footed shoeing ,toe weights,wedges ,and leather pads as it affects the biomechanics of movement of these high stepping horses . You dont want to miss how Ron prefers to draw clips for these packages!

Learn how making specific hoofcare choices for the horse can greatly reduce stress on the horse and minimize detrimental compensation for domestication throughout it's lifetime, leading to sounder, healthier horses.
Morning: Lecture, discussion, and Q&A
Afternoon: Live horse demonstrations applying the concepts discussed in the morning. Demo #1: Horse and hoof assessment, making an integrative hoofcare plan, hoof trimming and application of glue-on composite shoes to help the horse. Demo #2: the same process using metal shoes as the material of choice to help the horse.
**Stay for the optional Forge Night with experienced farriers who can help you learn to work around the forge!**
