Curtis has been shoeing for over 20 years. He began as a Thoroughbred jockey and then as a trainer. Over the years, he has shod some of the highest Thoroughbred money winners in the United States, including Mucho Macho Man· winner of the 2014 Breeders Cup Classic and Justify - the 2018 Triple Crown winner. Today, along with his wife Diane, he owns Polyflex Horseshoes in Wellington, Florida. He has a long and distinguished career in designing and working with glue-on shoes and quarter crack repair. He is also a former member of the AAPF/IAPF Board of Directors.
